I have been away for about a month and I want to be honest about why. I’ve been navigating a really tough season. I did not want to create from an empty cup or force content just to keep a schedule, so I rested. That is the exact thing I ask you to do and it felt important to actually do it myself. Now I am easing back in gently with something a little lighter than usual. Today I am sharing my summer reading list (so far). None of these books are about surviving a hard season. That is what makes them worth talking about. Each one carried me through in a different way, whether by making me laugh, lighting a fire under me, giving me somewhere else to go for a few hours, or making space for me to dream again. The books I share: • You Are a Badass at Making Money by Jen Sincero, the fourth or fifth time I’ve read it and still the best kick in the pants for money mindset • Gone Before Goodbye by Reese Witherspoon and Harlan Coben, a bingeable thriller and a genuine mental vacation (the bulk of the audiobook is read by Reese herself) • Becoming by Michelle Obama, which gave me a shift in perspective and one very good, very healing cry • How to End a Love Story by Yulin Kuang, way more lighthearted and funny than the description suggests • The Risk Worth Taking by Teri Ijeoma, a novel that teaches you to trade stocks without you realizing you are learning and the one that got me daydreaming again No homework, no notes, no pressure. Just one reader talking to another. And I would love to hear what you have been reading. Send me a DM on Instagram and tell me what is on your nightstand. It is so good to be back in your ears.
